Abstract Objectification and dehumanization are topics often discussed within the social psychology feminist theory literature. Research on objectification has largely focused sexual of women’s bodies, whereas literature in context racial ethnic groups. Extant political science research only recently begun to engage with these concepts. In this manuscript, we build upon literatures apply insights questions relevant politics. particular, argue that objectifying dehumanizing portrayals women impact how voters evaluate politicians much they support gender parity Through a proposed experimental design, test our hypothesis as group can decrease positive evaluations likelihood electoral for candidates.
